Our story

We started with a strong belief: the future of laser displays begins on a chip

Today’s projector systems keep hitting the same wall, the optics. The modules that paint light onto a lens are bulky, power-hungry and dim, assembled by hand from discrete components.

At Brilliance, we overcome these challenges by integrating everything on a single chip. Produced on the same wafer-scale processes that make semiconductors cheap and repeatable, while increasing performance.

Vision & values

Changing how we see and interact with the world.

When Bluetooth and Wi-Fi first emerged, no one could have predicted how they would reshape our world. Today, they’re the invisible foundations of modern life.

Laser Displays now stand at that same threshold, changing traditional displays as we know them today. We’re on the edge of a future that stretches beyond what we can currently imagine. A future where you have instant access to any information you want anywhere, in your car, in your house or on the street.

At Brilliance, we’re developing laserchips that make this possible. Light engines for tiny projectors to be seamlessly embedded in daily life, changing how we see and interact with the world.

Our challenge?

Enabling that seamless everyday use of laser display applications by providing the ultimate light source.

Where we build

Designed, built and tested in Twente.

Founded in the region of Twente in the Netherlands, the heart of the visible light photonics ecosystem.

Brilliance has full access to local extensive photonic engineering knowledge, wafer production, packaging and test facilities.

For you as a customer, this means fast iterations and access to over 20 years of PIC experience.

Ecosystem

An ecosystem behind every chip.
